A former Naval Officer, Detective and senior executive with Australian Airlines and Qantas, Steve Lawson is a founder and Director of AvSec Consulting Pty Ltd, Paradym and Purific. Steve has worked in the security/risk industry for over thirty years. As an executive with Australian Airlines and Qantas he has been responsible for developing many of the measures now accepted as vital to the security of aviation and air cargo. He is passionate about advancing security and risk management and works as an advisor to government and industry around the world, he writes a regular column on aviation security.

Bill has over twenty-five years’ experience in security operations, intelligence, threat and risk management, both with the Australian Government and in the private sector where he worked for Qantas Airways as its International Security Risk Manager. In 2007, Bill formed AvSec Consulting with Steve Lawson , Paradym in 2017, focussing on non-aviation consulting, and in 2020, Purific (Australia). Bill has consulted nationally and internationally, undertaking projects for governments and private industry covering aviation security, infrastructure security, security strategy, and policy.

Prof. Aurbach is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry, a member of Bar-Ilan University (BIU) Senate, the Director of the Energy Center at the Bar-Ilan University Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (BINA) and the leader of the Israel National Research Center for Electrochemical Propulsion (INREP), which includes 22 research groups from 5 leading academic institutions. He heads the Electrochemistry Research Group at Bar-Ilan. It numbers >40 people and is certainly the biggest group at BIU and perhaps the largest in Israel. He also served as the chairman of Israel National Labs Accreditation Authority (2010-2016) and is a past Chairperson of the Chemistry Department (2001-2005).
